UTAH MISSIONS, INC. (UMI)

UMI was found by John L. Smith over 35 years ago.  Following John L. Smith's retirement, UMI was directed by Michael Reynolds (an employee of the Southern Baptist Convention [SBC]).  As of June 1, 1997, the SBC ceased providing the level of financial support to UMI that it had in the past.  In May of 1997 Reynolds was relieved of his duties and John L. Smith came out of retirement to take the reins of UMI until a suitable replacement could be found.  Dennis A. Wright has been named as the Director of UMI.  UMI is now a subsidiary of Watchman Fellowship.
