Nomination # 1 Doctor Philastus Hurlbut was one of the early bitter apostates from the LDS Church who had been excommunicated for immorality. He was directly or indirectly responsible for much of the early anti-Mormon literature. We believe that he deserves the distinction of having an award in his name which signals the type of lies that anti-Mormons will stoop to in their ongoing attempts to denigrate the LDS Church and its leaders. Doctor was his real name and not a title. |
