Pres. George Q. Cannon


President George Q. Cannon was born on Jan. 11, 1827, at Liverpool, England.  He was ordained an apostle on Aug. 26, 1860 by Pres. Brigham Young.  Pres. Cannon was sustained as first counselor in the First Presidency Oct. 10, 1880 to Pres. John Taylor, at the age of 53; sustained as first counselor in the First Presidency Apr 7, 1889, to Pres. Wilford Woodruff and also to President Lorenzo Snow on Sep. 13, 1898.  He died Apr. 12, 1901 at Monterey, CA.
